Zyan Gibson
Position Height Weight ATH 6' 0" 174 Scouting ReportEvaluated 05/25/2025 Cooper PetagnaNational Recruiting Analyst Dynamic two-way athlete that possesses no shortage of physical traits to develop into a high level cover corner on Saturdays. Hovering around a shade under 6-foot-1, Gibson exhibits the prototypical length, speed and athleticism that is so highly coveted at one of the game’s most premium positions. A natural mover that’s primarily positioned in bump-and-run coverage at the field and boundary corner spots, the Alabama native displays dynamic play speed and change of direction ability, showing the ability to flip his hips and mirror opposing pass catchers with relative ease in man coverage. Although the physical traits are readily apparent, Gibson will need to continue to develop his coverage instincts in the passing game in addition to playing with more force and physicality in the open field at the next level. The Top247 standout projects as a high level Power Four starter at the collegiate level with the ability to develop into a potential early Day-2 NFL Draft choice considering his blend of size, speed and athleticism. H.S. Athletic BackgroundAlso plays basketball and runs track. Ran a 10.60 100 as a junior, per athletic.net Ran a 10.85 100 and a 22.19 200 as a sophomore, per MileSplit. As a freshman, posted an 11.04 100 and a 22.26 200 in Spring 2023. ----- 2023: Played cornerback and returned punts as a sophomore. - Gabe Brooks

Two-way snaps at cornerback and receiver, above-the-rim basketball tape, and elite combine testing metrics cement Edmonds as one of the most athletic defensive backs in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Followed up an impressive week of work as an underclassman at the Navy All-American Bowl with an "Alpha Dog" performance at the Under Armour Atlanta camp. Smooth mover who can flip his hips with ease in coverage, experienced playing a variety of different coverage schemes but excels in off-man coverage. Ball production doesn't jump off the page, but has consistently proven to be tough to beat at the catch point on both sides of the ball. Competitive temperament is ideal, constantly battles for positioning, maintains phase well, and uses the sideline to his advantage as a defender. At this stage of the evaluation process stacks up as one of the top cornerbacks in the country. Should be viewed as a traits-heavy boundary cornerback with the potential to shut down an entire side of the field for a college football playoff contender and blossom into an early round NFL Draft selection.

Who is ready for football season?
Who is ready for some college football? I know I am. I became a Tide Pride ticket holder this year and I am looking forward to watching the Bama/Tennessee game as it is one of the only SEC games I have yet to go to plus I'll get to see the Bama/Oklahoma game as well. So who else is ready?

The Brickyard
This past softball season I got me and my daughter season tickets to Alabama softball but because I wasn't a Tide Pride member I wasn't offered seats behind home plate or anything like that but I have to say even being way in the outfield in an area known as The Brickyard I was pleased at how well you could still see what all was going on. Tide softball is very fun to watch and I look forward to taking my daughter more often to watch games. It is definitely an experience that's for sure.
